So, I’ve always kind of wondered how sales ranking matched up with sales on that site where I self-pubbed my book. (I don’t think it’s a violation of the contract terms to publish this, but just in case I’m leaving out the name of the site.)
I have no pride, obviously, because so far I have three sales and know exactly who purchased those three copies. (That’s what happens when you don’t promote your book.)
So, I had one sale on the 30th of August and that translated to a ranking in the 165,000’s on the 31st that moved to the 185,000’s.
I had another sale on the 31st which kept the ranking on the 1st of September in the 164,000’s to the 177,000’s. By the end of the day it had dropped to the 210,000’s.
As of this morning with no further sales, the book was in the low 300,000’s. I had another sale today that moved it to the 95,000’s.
So, it looks like a book in the high hundreds is maybe selling a book a day. But on slow sales days that book may even make it into the 90’s.
