Why is it news when the oldest person in the world dies?  Isn’t that kind of expected?

(I wish I had more than that to contribute today, but that job that pays my bills is currently consuming my time.  I keep telling myself it’s nice to pay your bills.  It’s good to have electricity so your laptop works, but my self is sitting in the corner, arms crossed, looking very skeptical.)
