So, that thing I call a real job is still kicking my butt, which means yet another short post. (A chorus of people breathe a sigh of relief.)
(Just kidding…I know you love this blog, although if this blog is the highlight of your day might I suggest a hike or a good book or jumping off of a high object?) (With a parachute or bungy cord for that last one, of course.)
A little bit of motivation from agent Rachelle Gardner that I had in my archives: There Is No Time For Despair.
If you’re not willing to click through to the actual article, here’s a little snippet:
“The best way to deal with dejection is to stand up and fight. Don’t let yourself settle in to the despair. You’re not a quitter — pull out that fighting spirit and decide to be a writer regardless of the obstacles.”
So, if any of you are feeling a bit down about your writing – chin up! Suck it up, sit down, and write that next story. And if no one likes it, write another one and another one and another one.
(Or find a market that will like your story…all you have to do is look around at all the couples in this world to know that somewhere out there someone else will love what you write. They may be in jail or an insane asylum, but they’re out there. I promise.)
