So, I don’t actually expect to have anyone following this blog for quite some time, which means I’m really just talking to myself at this point.

I decided to get serious about writing for publication last July and have been working on a novel since then (draft one done, about halfway through draft two and, as a typical writer, I both love it and think it’s crap at the same time).  I submitted a short story for publication last week and, in a surge of optimism, boredom, and an intense desire to procrastinate, decided I should form a web presence for myself.  (You know, before the story gets published, people love it, and they start googling me and there’s nothing there for them to see).

Since I have no publication credits and will likely have none for quite some time, I plan on using this blog to post interesting articles I come across in my wanderings.  You (my non-existent audience since I’m not even telling my mother about this blog) may actually see original thoughts on occasion, but mostly I’m just going to put up some things I’ve found interesting, funny, etc.  And since I’m in full-blown learn-about-writing mode, there may be a heavy bias for articles or posts by actual published authors, but I also have a certain fascination for the many unique and different ways in which people choose to live their lives, so may post the occasional off-the-wall story I read.  (Like the one I read the other day about centaur porn – it’s real, believe it or not).

I’m not a fan of talking about politics, religion, etc. so don’t expect to see much of that.  And I reserve the right to delete any comments by anyone that I find ridiculous, offensive, etc.  I’m all for free speech, but I’m not a supporter of egoists (wanna be one, start your own blog).

I’ll try to post every other day or so just in case someone does decide to start following me.
